I never thought the day I quote Oprah would come, but alas it is here. In the words of her majesty, the Queen of talk show once said:
“Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.”
In my new effort to not be such a stinker all the time, I’m going to make a genuine effort to remember and reflect on things that make me happy and/or I am thankful for each week. Now, why do I have to post these things and subject you to them? Because by writing them here I’m holding myself accountable in a public arena. Which I sort of need because I lack the discipline to do so otherwise.
So.
We shall start this week with something that happened today. (Not the format I mentioned, but whatever.)
I had a “quick” coffee date with a new friend of mine that lasted two and half hours. She is so coolly awesome and full of awesome coolness. I am clearly expanding my vocabulary.
I think what was so refreshing to me was the change in, hmmm, what’s the word, I think I would say “crowd”. We see eye to eye on a lot of life concepts and although from totally different backgrounds, we have the same fundamental principles, which only further proves to me that even the most apparently different people can be spiritually, mentally, and emotionally identical.
Like similarities manifesting in different ways.
“Never judge a book by its cover ” is the biggest lesson we got out of it, and definitely a new friendship.
Also that we need to keep better track of time because we ended up completely missing class.
